I will be backing up my files and doing a clean install of Windows 10 Pro soon, disabling Windows Update Driver updates before I even connect to the internet. I still don't like the fact that the update is still laying dormant somewhere on my system & can't seem to get rid of it, I think it lives in the EFI boot partition. I have a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU with a 3060 in it and would like to be able to use it with little issue, as well as have the ability to undervolt my CPU if I want to so I will most likely be on this current BIOS update forever.Īfter it kept trying to install itself after every reboot I found that if you 'roll back driver' and disable the 'System Firmware' under device manager it stopped trying to install itself. This worked for me, I've heard nothing but bad things about BIOS updates after F.15 which Windows has now tried to install twice on me, thankfully I was there to stop it. Update: Ran up the win update show/hide troubleshooter in attempt to hide the update that was pending in restart, but could only hide the follow up bios update instead (15.28.0.0).

I'm currently on F.18 on my aw0xxx, and win update had downloaded to the point of 'pending restart' the 15.27.0.0 firmware version, presumably bios ver F.26 that I have only heard bad things about.
